Dolly M. Dodson, 76, of Dalton, GA, died Saturday morning, July 28, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born March 24, 1936 in Athens, TN, a daughter of the late Claude and Hazel Wattenbarger Price; and was also preceded in death by her husband, John D. Dodson; a brother, Sam Price; and a sister, Rose Price. 

Dolly was retired from the Whitfield County School System and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Dodson and Jessie Wayne Carter of Dalton; special grandson, Johnny Kendrick; grandchildren, Brent Carter, Shelby Carter and Terrie Carter Stinnett; great-grandchildren, Haley Carter, Dawson Williams, Gracie Stinnett, Cabel Carter and Austin Carter; brother, Ronne Price; sisters, Oneida Robison, Joann Burke, Dianne Burke, June and Curtis Hicks all of Athens, TN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Brenda Dodson of Gastonia, NC and Larry and Ki Dodsonof St. Petersburg, FL; loving friends, June Staten and Hoyt Blanchard; and several nieces and nephews. 

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dolly M. Dodson will be held Tuesday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at the Pine Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Brandon Chastain officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Fred Toney, Rick Garrett, Ken Brown, Danny Baggett, Ronnie Shepard and Jamie Parker serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel, who has charge of the arrangements, from 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 30. 
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the GA Chaper of the Alzheimer's Association, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton, GA, 30721.


Kirkpatrick, Susan (Cookeville)
