Ralph Miller Inspires Action And Positive Results - And Response (3)

Monday, July 30, 2012

Ralph Miller stands out as a man of deep character with a tremendous passion for children and public education.  Some 30 years ago, as his student, Ralph Miller changed my life by challenging us daily to be our best and then to improve upon that result.  His lessons of never giving up on your goals and setting high standards have stayed with me throughout my life.

Ralph Miller is the perfect choice to lead the 7th District School Board position.  As both a teacher and principal, Ralph Miller forged progress and positive results for his students and faculty.  When you talk to his former staff you will hear about his remarkable ability to relate to others and understand the critical issues surrounding the best practices for teaching children and cultivating great teachers.

As an instructional leader, he met with the determined mission of bringing schools up to the gold standard of 21st century learning. He meets obstacles with the utmost determination and drive.  Ralph Miller led his classrooms and his schools with intelligence, ingenuity, and grace.  Ralph Miller always works towards excellence and I believe he will make the best decisions for the future of the students and teachers of the 7th District.

Ralph Miller is dedicated to the improvement of the Hamilton County School system, and has worked tirelessly for many years to improve the education of our students.

I have known Ralph Miller for 43 years and am pleased to see him running as the Hamilton County School Board District 7 representative. Ralph has worked in public education the majority of his adult life.

He has served education in our county as a middle and high school teacher and as an elementary and middle school administrator. His experience as a teacher and administrator gives him invaluable insight into the needs of the overall system, including its top administrators, and its front-line professionals, the teachers.

Ralph is a professional educator with an impressive resume’. This accompanied with his commitment to the students of Hamilton County makes him the logical choice as School Board representative.

With the upcoming election on Aug. 2 for members on the Hamilton County Board of Education, I strongly endorse Ralph Miller for that position in District 7.

I have known Ralph since 1953 and he has always been a person of integrity and honesty with a keen desire for education.  As a life-long resident of Hamilton County who grew up in the downtown area of Chattanooga, he attended Chattanooga High School and graduated in 1965.  He holds two degrees from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as well as one from Lincoln Memorial University, the Educational Specialist degree.

Ralph has spent all his working years in the schools of Chattanooga and Hamilton County.  He has been a teacher in the classroom as well as serving as assistant principal and principal in the school systems.  He is a wonderful musician and has led bands and played professionally with different musical groups since retiring from his career in education.

District 7 has several major challenges at present and needs someone with Ralph's experience on the school board.  Having lived in District 7 for almost 25 years, with his children attending those schools and grandchildren who will soon be there, Ralph has a very strong interest in the schools of the district.  He believes in the importance of the fine arts, supports vocational and technical education, and knows what is needed for the success of our schools.

I urge you vote on Aug. 2 for Ralph Miller and help elect him to the Hamilton County School Board District 7.

Roy Exum: Sharing The Laughter

This time last week I was certain that laughter is the best medicine but I have since found I was wrong. Since then the prayers of the people have already resulted in miracles and blessings but what has staggered me are not just hundreds of jokes that have flooded my email but ... (click for more)

Lookouts Win Fifth Straight Nipping Wahoos, 3-1

Andres Santiago and three Lookouts pitchers combined for a four-hitter -- including 3.1 hitless innings by the bullpen -- and Yasiel Puig drove in all three of the Lookouts runs as they earned their fifth consecutive victory (the longest win streak of the 2013 season), 3-1, over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. Puig's days well may be numbered with the Lookouts. But the big Cuban, ... (click for more)
