Kris Kristofferson will perform at the Tivoli Theatre on Friday, Aug. 10, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is appropriate for all ages.

Kris Kristofferson is most notably known for his success as a country songwriter in the early 1970s. His numerous hit songs such as “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” and “For The Good Times” were all chart toppers. His personal and serious songwriting helped redefine country music, much the way Bob Dylan did in the mid 1960s. By the late 1980s it was estimated that nearly 450 artists had recorded Kristofferson’s work.
Kris has continued to tour extensively and released his latest album ‘Closer to the Bone’ in 2009. Like the master singer-songwriter’s 2006 album ‘This Old Road,’ ‘Closer to the Bone’ was produced by Grammy Award winner Don Was. Much like its predecessor, ‘Closer to the Bone’ is a deftly observed, honestly executed work about love, separation, loss, and mortality. The subject matter ranges from the musician’s family “From Here to Forever,” “The Wonder” to Kristofferson’s late friend Johnny Cash “Good Morning John.”
