The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are teaming with Center Hill Lake’s Hidden Harbor Marina’s for the fifth annual Plywood Boat Race and Rib and Wing Cook-off to be held on Saturday, July 28.

The TWRA and the Corps of Engineers will be providing boating and water safety information and activities. The Wear It! The TWRA and Corps continue to build upon their strong partnership as both are in the business to raise awareness about water safety and try to save lives. Center Hill Lake had a tough year in 2011 with 12 drowning deaths.

Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with a silent auction and a live auction will begin at 5 p.m. The Plywood Boat Race begins at 6 p.m. and the Rib and Wing Cook-off begins at 7:15 p.m.  All proceeds will benefit the Jolly Angels, a nonprofit organization comprised of boaters who raise money for children of fallen or wounded soldiers.  The organization provides Christmas presents as well as scholarships for these children.
