A 23-year-old Harrison man involved in a wild police chase has picked up 15 different charges out of the incident.

Police said Robert Edward Millsaps of 9120 Harrison Bay Road was driving 90 mph at times and forced other drivers off the roadway in the incident on Friday.

Officers were involved in another case with Millsaps, who they said was in a stolen vehicle, four days earlier.

This time they said they spotted him on Ramsey Road in a black Ford Ranger believed to have been stolen in Walker County, Ga., with a trailer believed to have been stolen in Bradley County. He evaded a traffic stop and veered onto Shirley Pond Road, where police said he appeared to try to ram a vehicle driven by Deputy Hank Ritter.

He sped onto Harrison Bay Road, nearly losing control of the vehicle.

Police said he got up to 80 mph passing vehicles on double yellow lines and running traffic off the roadway. He was going up to 90 mph on Henry Road. There were attempts to knock him off the road with a patrol vehicle, and he went into a ditch once but got out. He was finally forced into another ditch and the truck landed on the driver's side.

Police said Millsaps appeared to be under some drug, was sweating heavily and seemed to be in a panic. A syringe was found in the vehicle along with a bag of grass that police believe he was trying to pass off as marijuana.

Millsaps was charged with burglary of an auto, theft over $1,000, burglary, theft of property, evading arrest (2), driving on revoked, reckless driving (2), assault on police, theft of property over $10,000, theft over $500 and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Millsaps was out of jail though he was given a four-year sentence on a meth charge and three years for evading arrest in criminal court on Dec. 1, 2010.

Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem

The Delta Queen is a magnificent part of history and in many ways I'm pleased she is in town. Having the boat where she is is the problem. The boat blocks the view of and from the prettiest park in our town. The crew take many of the parking spots around the park leaving families to park across Frazier and schlep their kids, strollers and picnics to the park. You don't get fireworks ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Aimee Gets New Hands

Aimee Copeland reached for a potato chip and, with a pretty smile, popped it into her mouth and crunched it up. It sounds like nothing but it was an incredible “God moment” just one year after her bout with necrotizing fasciitis capitated the world and left a beautiful young woman with no hands, her left leg removed on one side and a right foot amputated on another. Last May ... (click for more)
