The East Region of the Tennessee Affordable Housing Coalition will discuss community partnerships and tactics for building successful community relationships at its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, at 11:30 a.m. at Caldwell Hall on the McCallie Campus, 500 Dodds Ave.
The lunchtime meeting will begin with a welcome by Michael Butler, regional president of SunTrust, and Angela Conner, vice president community development at SunTrust, will discuss SunTrust’s partnerships with affordable housing entities across the region. Abby Garrison, director of strategic initiatives at Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, will deliver the keynote presentation about how CNE has leveraged community partnerships in building and sustaining livable neighborhoods. A group discussion about partnerships will follow with an optional tour of CNE homes in the Bushtown and Orchard Knob neighborhoods concluding the quarterly meeting.
“Community partnerships are vital to nonprofit organizations, especially during challenging economic times,” said Ms. Garrison. “By sharing ideas, we, as a coalition, will be able take those best practices back to our organizations and implement them to develop stronger community partnerships, which will ultimately create stronger neighborhoods.”
The goal of the East Region of the Tennessee Affordable Housing Coalition is to create sound and affordable housing opportunities. The coalition includes not-for-profit housing providers, public housing agencies, builders, realtors, lenders and agencies from various governmental levels from across East Tennessee, spanning from Chattanooga northward to the Tri-Cities.
