Parents with struggling students know the warning signs and seek help where they can. For one local mom, even tutoring twice a week didn’t help her 16-year-old daughter with her grades. That was until she learned about the LearningRx Brain Training Program and had her daughter’s cognitive skills assessed.
The Learning Rx Chattanooga Brain Training Center is offering a “Back to School” Assessment Special, July 30 until Aug. 10, at its location at 2040 Hamilton Place Boulevard in Chattanooga. The goal is to help struggling children improve their cognitive skills and ultimately make learning easier.
Katrina Schleif of Chattanooga says her daughter, Hailey was an okay student, not failing, but barely making average grades. She knew Hailey could do better. There was a huge disconnect between what Hailey was learning in class, what she was actually retaining and her test scores. Ms. Schleif looked for help in various places including online and found LearningRx Chattanooga Brain Training Center.
“There was a listing for tutors; I knew that was not the answer. On the second page I found the listing for LearningRx. I contacted them and made the appointment to have her tested. While Hailey was being tested I was being interviewed about Hailey and learning about cognitive skills. When we got her test results back it was clear; Hailey had executive processing deficiencies and excelled in other areas so that is why she was able to function within the“mainstream guidelines” of school. I realized that if we did not help her with this now she would struggle for the rest of her high school years and in college.”
“LearningRx Brain Training exposes each student to a customized series of intense mental workouts. To perform these workouts, the brain is forced to strengthen, reorganize and even create new neural pathways. In other words, Brain Training ‘rewires’ the brain to perform more efficiently than ever before,” said Michelle Hecker, executive director, LearningRx Chattanooga.
This process helped Hailey become a better student and sparked the joy of learning in the teenager; something her parents say had not been possible for a long time.
“Hailey began one-on-one training with a trainer. It was within the first two to three lessons that I started to see a change. Not only could she say all her presidents backwards and forwards in under a minute but also in her confidence. Things were starting to click; she was more aware and she was starting to be the “smart” girl at school,” Ms. Schleif said.
LearningRx Brain Training has been proven to help children of all ages: struggling students find learning easier, good students excel, career adults gain a competitive edge, weekend and professional athletes think faster on their feet; even senior adults have been known to stay mentally sharp after completing the program. Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury victims regain lost brain function and Children and Adults find answers for ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and other learning challenges.
LearningRx Chattanooga Brain Training Center serves families and children in the Tennessee Valley. The center is linked with 70 Brain Training centers throughout the United States. Nearly 15,000 children and adults have received Brain Training and found remarkable results: higher IQs, faster thinking, easier learning and better memory and concentration skills. By focusing directly on the cause of the learning struggle—which is underlying cognitive skills weakness—Brain Training helps struggling students overcome life-long symptoms of learning disabilities. It can help you or your child learn, read, and think faster and easier.
Officials said Brain Training can also radically reduce rehabilitation time and increase recovered brain function for those suffering with accident, sport, or war related TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). Chattanooga Brain Training Center is located at 2040 Hamilton Place Blvd., near Bed, Bath & Beyond and Marshalls, in Chattanooga.
