Grand Opening Celebration For Maple Hills Apartments Is July 18

The Chattanooga Housing Authority and Pennrose Properties, LLC are hosting a grand opening celebration for Maple Hills Apartments on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. The development is at 2515 Gilbert Street in Chattanooga. 


Residents and dignitaries will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Pennrose development team, CHA, residents, local officials and representative of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development are among those expected to attend.  A fully-furnished two-bedroom model unit will also be available for guests to tour.


The new Maple Hills development is comprised of eight residential buildings with a total of 48 rental units for family occupancy.  The apartments have a full amenities package, including a wide variety of energy efficient components. Thanks to the support of green|spaces Chattanooga, the development anticipates a “LEED for Homes” Gold Certification.


Other development highlights for Maple Hills:

·         Energy efficient windows and doors

·         ENERGY STAR appliances & lighting

·         High-Efficiency water fixtures

·         High-Efficiency heating & cooling systems

·         Permeable concrete sidewalks

·         Durable vinyl wood plank flooring

·         All units will be non-smoking


The total development financing includes tax-exempt bond financing issued by the Health, Education and Housing Facility Board of the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, with additional funding coming from the Chattanooga Housing Authority through RHF and Capital funds and a green|spaces grant for the LEED services and in kind Home Energy Rating System verification. The Low Income Housing Tax Credit Investor is Redstone Equity Partners. 


264-Unit Apartment Complex Planned at Hickory Valley Road, Highway 58

A 264-unit apartment complex planned at Hickory Valley Road and Highway 58 gained approval from the Planning Commission on Monday. The project in the 5300 block of Highway 58 is by Arlington Properties. The site is partway in the city and partway in the county, but it is planned to have the entire tract annexed into the city.
