Bible Way Baptist Church Honors Its World War II Veterans

Bible Way Baptist Church in Rossville honored three of its members who are World War II veterans.
 

Baptist International Missions Military Director, Dr. Jim Kennard was on hand to present these three heroes with special framed certificates. 

He said it was sad to hear that as BIMI is honoring WWII veterans around the country most veterans say "this is the first time they have ever been thanked or recognized for their service."  Dr. Kennard said Bible Way is extremely blessed to have three WW II Veterans in its congregation. He also said this is the first time they have honored three WW II Veterans that were members of the same church. 

Organizers said, "It was a great time of celebration, with singing and preaching. A day we hope our young people will not forget, as they saw three of 'America's Greatest Generation' honored."

Robert Paschal Eaton, 1st Lieutenant Army, Panama Canal, 1941-1945
 
Harold Madison McLeod, SC 3rd Class, Coast Guard/Navy, USS Gulfport, 1941-1945
 
Dr. James Lawson Palmer, 3rd Class Petty Officer, Navy Seabees, South Pacific - Guadalecanal, 1943-1945

 

Churchwide Missions Lunch Is Sunday At Signal Mountain Baptist

A churchwide mission lunch will be at noon this Sunday, at Signal Mountain Baptist Church, 939 Ridgeway Ave. All donations for the meal will go toward youth mission trips this summer. City Council Ad Hoc Committee To Study Moving Elections To August, Adding More Districts, Staggering Terms
