As early voting begins, I'd like to recommend to my friends and family that live in District 2 to write in Mike Harvey as they cast their ballot in this important election.
I have known Mike my entire life. He has a wonderful wife,Yvonne, and two sons, Cody (of Mountain Cove Bluegrass) and Taylor, who plays football for and attends SMMHS. Mike's parents, Charles and Charlotte are life long mountain residents who reared their sons to be honorable men, just as Mike has Cody and Taylor.
Mike attended public schools in this district until his graduation, then attending college. Both families have worked in local churches and community efforts to make our area a better place to live. Mike and Yvonne have been on several mission trips for their church, worked hard for and supported every effort to make Signal Mountain High School a reality, and continue those efforts today. They also are involved in the renovations for Red bank High School.
Mike will not only work for us in our mountain community, but for the entire district. There have been some unfortunate incidents at the high school that make us not so proud, but a lot of that has been because the wrong people were involved in the operations of the school, including the soon to be former board member.
Mike is a very honest man with no ax to grind or anyone to condemn. What he says he truly believes and will follow through with it. I have no doubt. Win, lose, or draw, our community is fortunate to have Mike and his family here to make it an even better place to live.
Mike's name will not be on the ballot, but please color in the bubble and write in Mike Harvey for District 2 School Board and our district will have someone whom we all can be proud we helped to elect to serve our community.
