Ron Powers Will Be A Judge Who Cares About People

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Ron Powers is currently running for General Sessions Court judge for Hamilton County.  I have known Ron for 13 years and give him my highest endorsement to fill the seat formerly held by Bob Moon.

Ron, like Bob, is someone who cares about people and takes genuine interest in the welfare of this county.  I practiced law with Ron until our former law firm, Shumacker Witt Gaither & Whitaker, broke apart into separate segments in 2006.  I was eight months pregnant at the time.

Although Ron was busy establishing a new practice, he took the time to get directions to my home and come by to personally visit with my family and meet me new baby several months after the firm concluded business.  He did that, in my opinion, simply because he cares and because he is a person whose temperament and character are of the highest caliber.

I recall a pro bono case on which Ron and I worked involving a client who was homeless, jobless, and disabled.  Ron worked as hard on that case as he did on cases he had for clients with more resources and was personally invested in our client’s best interests.

Ron not only possesses the moral integrity to stand out as a candidate, but he is also an excellent practitioner and would bring a superb work ethic to the bench.  He is thorough and thoughtful in every aspect of his practice and would contribute those qualities as a judge.

I highly recommend Ron Powers for General Sessions Court judge.
