The Hamilton County Council of PTAs announces its student award winners from the 2011-2012 school year. The HCC of PTAs Student Awards Ceremony was held in May at the Chattanooga Lookout's AT&T Field. The following students participated in the Hamilton County PTA Reflections Arts Program, Citizenship Essay Program and the Safety Poster Program. The HCC of PTAs also presented two scholarships.

ABOUT THE HAMILTON COUNTY COUNCIL OF PTAs
The Hamilton County Council of PTAs is a nonprofit organization that coordinates county wide PTA programs and services for local PTAs in Hamilton County public schools.
The Council hosts two training and networking sessions in August and September for local PTA leaders. Each year the Hamilton County Schools Superintendent delivers the "State of the Schools" address at the Council's October meeting. The Council also hosts an annual Founder's Day luncheon to honor PTA leaders each February.
The HCC of PTAs operates the Teacher Supply Depot as well. The Council gathers donations from businesses and distributes the supplies to teachers who are members of Hamilton County public school PTAs. The Teacher Supply Depot is located inside the old Mary Ann Garber School at 2225 Roanoke Avenue.
The Council organizes county wide contests for students who enter the National PTA Reflections Program, and the Tennessee PTA Citizenship Essay Contest, Safety Poster Contest and Safety Multi-Media Contest. Students who win at the county level move on to the Tennessee PTA state competition. For the Reflections program, winners at the state level move on to the national competition. The HCC of PTAs hosts an end of the year Student Awards Ceremony to honor student winners of these contests and the winners of two Hamilton County Council of PTAs scholarships.
The Hamilton County Council of PTAs is a member of the Tennessee PTA and the National PTA. National PTA, which was formed in 1897, is the largest parent involvement organization in the United States, with over 5 million members.
