Simpson, Earlene Gordon (Dalton)

Earlene Gordon Simpson, 75, of Dalton, Ga., died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at her residence. 

She was the daughter of the late William Earl Gordon and Lucy Robinson Gordon; and was also preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Gordon King; brother, Herman Harold Gordon; and son, Bruce Erwin Cook. 

Earlene is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Douglas Simpson of Dalton; daughters, Penny Cook Bradshaw of Rocky Face, Susan Simpson Dixon of Chatsworth and Nikki Oliver of Dalton; step-children, Beverly Simpson Roser, Linda Simpson Colona and Douglas Simpson, Jr. all of Bridgeville, Del.; grandchildren, Jana Simpson, Jamie Simpson, Morgan Scott, Shannon Green and Brian Butler all of Bridgeville, Del., Alex Dixon of Chatsworth and Justin Bradshaw of Atlanta; special great-granddaughter, Lucy Catherine Bradshaw of Atlanta; nieces and nephew, Denise Hall of Tunnel Hill, Holly Duvall of Danielsville, Ky. and Russ King of Chattanooga; and other great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 28 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday, June 27 from 5-8 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to the Dalton First United Methodist Church Childrens Ministries, 500 S. Thornton Ave., Dalton, Ga. 30720. 

Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
