Greg Vital Stands Up For Traditional Tennessee Values - And Response

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Greg Vital is the clear choice for Tennessee’s 10th senatorial district.  Our founders never intended politics to be a profession, and Greg is no politician. He is a self-made businessman who built an Ooltewah based company from one employee 16 years ago to over 850 today. He’s also a family man committed to traditional conservative values.

In getting to know Greg, what I’ve found most refreshing is that he doesn’t feel entitled and he doesn’t expect anything for free. You don’t owe him anything; not your loyalty, your money, your sweat, or your vote. He believes in earning it.  He’s a hard worker who does what he tells you he’s going to do.

If you’ve spent much time around politicians, you know this is a rare personal quality, and one we could do with a lot more of.

Hamilton and Bradley counties are on the move. If you’re looking for a proven conservative leader who has the experience to build on that momentum and the courage to stand up for traditional Tennessee values, Greg Vital is your man.

There seem to be two popular paths to elected office. The first way is that of the political “lifer,” someone who decides at a young age that they want to run for office, either immediately or at some point in the future, and they spend the bulk of their time operating within the political realm to achieve that end. There is not anything overtly wrong with this track, but it can limit a candidate’s experience to a very narrow scope.

The second path is to dedicate a sizeable portion of one’s career to non-political affairs, such as community building, business, education, or some other pursuit that helps round out a candidate’s perspective, equipping them with more tools to successfully represent a constituency. I prefer the latter to the former, hands down. And, Greg Vital is that type of candidate.

He is a successful job creator, farmer, and longtime champion of conservative principles. The folks of Tennessee’s 10th State Senate District are fortunate to have such a high quality candidate as Mr. Vital. I look forward to having him represent me and my neighbors in Nashville.

Roy Exum: 50 Facts About Our Bodies

Maybe 20 years ago I became entranced by a book called “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.” It was co-authored by a surgeon, Paul Brand, and a Christian writer, Phillip Yancey, and gave one specific after another about the human body and how only God could have created such a miraculous machine. Today the book is a classic and I have marveled ever since over how unbelievable human ... (click for more)
