Carla Youngberg, executive director at Life Care Center of Collegedale, has received the American College of Health Care Administrators’ Facility Leadership Award.
The Facility Leadership Award recognizes the achievement of long-term health administrators in maintaining quality facilities as measured by Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services standards.
“I am very honored to receive the Facility Leadership Award,” said Ms. Youngberg. “As a facility, we strive daily to provide the best care for our residents. I appreciate ACHCA providing a higher level of education and professionalism that enhances the quality of administrators.”
Ms. Youngberg has been the executive director at Life Care Center of Collegedale for 10 years. She began her career in long-term care as a certified nursing assistant and worked her way up in the industry through positions of receptionist/secretary and business office manager.
“Working with residents, family members and associates gave me a real appreciation to help others and encouraged me to become an administrator,” Ms. Youngberg shared. “The experience from my first roles has been very beneficial to me as executive director.”
Ms. Youngberg is a certified nursing home administrator and an ACHCA fellow. She is also a preceptor in Tennessee, training interns from local universities and participants in Life Care Centers of America’s administrator-in-training program.
Founded in 1962, ACHCA is the only professional association devoted solely to meeting the professional needs of today’s long-term care administrators. Its mission focuses on advancing leadership excellence in long-term care through the provision of leadership education, promotion of professional advancement programs such as fellowship and certification, and facilitation of leadership development. The College includes administrators of assisted living centers, nursing homes and retirement communities.
