Erlanger Offers Classes And Events For June 25-28

The Erlanger schedule of classes and events for June 25-28 includes a variety of HealthLink Plus fitness opportunities, weight management and family planning classes. Call Erlanger HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.  HealthLink Plus is a free membership program open to adults 18 and older.

Bariatric Support Group meetings are for individuals scheduled to have Bariatric surgery or who have already had weight loss surgery.

Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Seminar
6-8 p.m.
Erlanger Chattanooga Lifestyle Center
Area residents 100 or more pounds overweight and /or with health problems related to obesity are invited to learn more about the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Centerat Erlanger. It is a free seminar and registration is required. Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465) to register.

Cholestech Lipid and Glucose Screening
8 a.m. – Noon
Erlanger North (Morrison Springs Road)
Lipid & Glucose Screening with results while you wait!  A lipid panel will show HDL, LDL, Total cholesterol, non-HDL, cholesterol ratio and triglycerides.  A 12-hour fast is required to produce an accurate result.   No eating or drinking coffee prior to the test, but please drink water the night before and morning of testing. Reservations ARE required, no walk-ins will be taken.  Lipid plus Glucose is $25. Call Erlanger’s HealthLink at 778-LINK (5465) for information.

Free PSA Screening

8-11 a.m.

Erlanger North (Morrison Springs Road)
The PSA test is primarily used to screen for prostate cancer in men before symptoms appear.  This is a quick blood draw from the arm with results mailed at a later date.  Registration is required and walk ins will not be accepted.  Call 778-LINK (5465) for information or to register.

3 Charged In Raleigh With Murder Of Former Cleveland, Tn., Woman

Three people have been charged in Raleigh, N.C., with the murder last week of a 30-year-old woman, who had just moved from Cleveland, Tn.
