Darryl Leander Johnson, 58, formerly of Knoxville, died on June 6, 2012 at his home in Chattanooga.

Darryl was a graduate of Farragut High School where he was a member of the Key Club and the National Honor Society.  He attended the University of Tennessee and was well-known for his culinary work in various restaurants, including the Orangery Restaurant in Knoxville and Tony’s Pasta Shop and the Back Inn Café in Chattanooga.

Darryl attended the Messiah Lutheran Church and enjoyed cooking for his friends, watching movies, reading, and music of all types.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Gordon Johnson and mother, Mildred Cornwell Arrants.

Survivors include his father, Leander F. (Jean) Johnson of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Penny Johnson, Chattanooga.

A  Service of Holy Communion will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 11:30 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4309 Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363.
