First Baptist Church Hosts Men's Day Sunday

First Baptist Church, 506 East 8th St., will host Men’s Day on Sunday.  The Men’s Day is being sponsored by the Men’s Division of the Church.  

The guest speaker is the Rev. Craig M. Johnson of Atlanta.  Rev. Johnson is a native of Richmond, Va. where he graduated from Marshall High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Saint Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Va. and is a certified federal law enforcement instructor.

Rev. Johnson is a member of the Antioch Baptist Church-North, Atlanta, where he has held membership for 21 years.  He was licensed to preach by the Rev. Cameron M. Alexander in 2001 and ordained as a minister of the Gospel in 2004.

The theme for the special service is Courageous Men of God.   The Men’s Division is hosting several activities during the next four months culminating with a festive Jazz by the Water concert in August. 

Rev. William Terry Ladd III, is pastor of this historic Church.  Rev. Ladd is the 13th pastor in the church’s 146 year history.  The co-chairpersons for this event are Deacons Virgil Robertson and LaMont Vaughn.
