Christopher L. Ramsey has been chosen as director of the Office of Health Care Reform of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
In this new role, Mr. Ramsey will lead efforts of BlueCross to adapt business practices to comply with the federal health care reform law passed in 2010. Mr. Ramsey most recently served as BlueCross’ director of vendor and pharmacy contracting.
“Chris has the talent, experience and energy to take on this important role and succeed,” said Calvin Anderson, senior vice president of corporate affairs. “Health care reform is changing the health insurance landscape in many ways and Chris will coordinate our transformation to make reform work for our members.”
Mr. Ramsey started at BlueCross in 1991 and has worked through a series of management roles, with increasing responsibilities. He has earned a masters in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a bachelors degree in business administration from Austen Peay State University. He is an active community volunteer with Boys and Girls Club, Downtown Kiwanis and others.
