East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra Has Free Concert July 3
posted June 23, 2006

In October, 2005, 10 civic-minded individuals embarked on a mission to establish a symphony orchestra to serve the citizens of the greater Chattanooga area. Since that day in October, these individuals formed a Board of Directors, elected officers and filed federal nonprofit organization applications in their effort to formally establish the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra (ETSO). The ETSO is a full 74 piece symphony orchestra.

The mission statement of the ETSO is to serve and enhance the community through musical performance and educational programs.

The family-oriented premier concert, which is free to the public, is scheduled for Monday, July 3, at 8:30 p.m. in front of the Veterans Memorial Park located along the Greenway Path in the heart of Collegedale (off of Apison Pike directly across the street from the Collegedale City Hall Building).

The annual City of Collegedale Independence Day Firework Celebration will be choreographed to several patriotic selections.

Participants should bring lawn chairs or blankets and pack a picnic because no food or beverage concessions will be available on site.
