Houston Museum Antiques Show To Be At Warehouse Row
posted November 23, 2009

The 36th Annual Houston Museum Antiques Show, a Chattanooga tradition featuring more than 35 antique dealers, has closed a contract to hold the event February 26-28, 2010, at Warehouse Row. The annual antiques convention is hosted by the historic Houston Museum of Decorative Arts.

Amy H. Frierson, director of the Houston Museum, said, “We are excited to hold the Houston Museum’s annual antique show at Warehouse Row, a place that is highly accessible and brimming with excitement among the Chattanooga community. We expect a large and lively crowd to arrive at Warehouse Row to explore tens of thousands of antique treasures. As an organization that prides itself on the enigmatic character of our namesake, Anna Safley Houston, and a unique collection of rare and valuable antiques, we believe our patrons will be energized to visit their favorite vendors in a stunning setting that seamlessly blends history and style.”

Located in the arts district of downtown Chattanooga, the Houston Museum is home to one of the finest collections of antique glass and ceramics in the country, as well as antique furniture, music boxes, coverlets, prints, metals and other rare pieces collected by Anna Safley Houston. The annual Houston Museum Antiques Show is a special event benefiting the museum’s operations, which in previous years has attracted more than 3,000 patrons to the Chattanooga area. In what will be its first year at Warehouse Row, the 2010 Antiques Show will be able to accommodate more dealers than in the past, including home décor vendors that complement the antiques merchandise, such as hand engravers and glass repair specialists.

The 36th Annual Houston Museum Antiques Show will begin with a preview party on February 25, for $75, which includes general admission to the show. General admission tickets will be $15 and will cover the duration of the show, open February 26-27, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and February 28 from 12-5 p.m. For more information, visit www.thehoustonmuseum.com or call 423.267.7176.
