Baylor Advances to DII-AA State Quarterfinal With Win Over St. Benedict by special report to The Chattanoogan posted November 6, 2009 It was coast time for Baylors Red Raiders in the first round of the Division II-AA state football playoffs on Friday night at Heywood Stadium. The Red Raiders, playing without starting quarterback Jacob Huesman, rolled to a 42-10 victory over St. Benedict with third-string quarterback Chuck Hudson leading the way. Huesman was out with a shoulder injury, but was available if needed, Baylor officials said. Baylor (7-4) advanced to a quarterfinal next Friday at top-ranked Memphis University School. MUS is ranked 13th nationally. St. Benedict ended its season at 3-8. Baylor had 369 yards rushing, with Sam Williams leading the way with 20 carries for 161 yards and one touchdown. Nelson Pinkstaff added seven carries for 97 yards and two touchdowns for the Red Raiders. Hudson was 4-7-1 for 42 yards and ran for a touchdown as well. Brandon Eaves had a 60-yard interception return for the Red Raiders and freshman Mike Davis scored on a 13-yard run late in the game.
