Mrs. Wilson was born and raised in Olive, Ok. She lived most of her life in Grayville, Il. She had spent her retirement years residing in Chattanooga. She was the youngest of seven children.
Mrs. Wilson’s greatest passion of her life was the study of God’s word. She was of the Baptist faith and deeply involved in mission work. Jesus became her Lord and Savior in Oklahoma and she deepened her faith at the First Baptist Church of Grayville. She recently served the Lord at Crossroads Church of Chattanooga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wilson; as well as five of her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her sister, Cordia Francis of Illinois; two children, Gary W. Wilson and his wife Suzanne Wilson; Sharon R. Belva and her husband Louis W. Belva; five grandchildren, Rachel Houghton and spouse Scott Houghton, Louis Belva III and spouse Kasey Belva, Stuart Belva and spouse Elysia Belva, Wade Wilson and Brad Wilson and spouse Giselle Wilson; she was overjoyed to have six great-grandchildren, Maddox Houghton, Adrianna Wilson, Bryce Houghton, William Belva, Myles Belva and Natalie Belva; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, at the North Chapel with her son-in-law, senior pastor Dr. Louis W. Belva, and grandson, preaching pastor Louis W. Belva III of Crossroads Church of Chattanooga will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, and from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the North Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Church of Chattanooga Building Fund.
