Conservative Union Straw Poll Favors Ron Ramsey posted November 6, 2009 Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey (R-Blountville) won a straw poll conducted Thursday night by the Tennessee Conservative Union, Tennessee’s "only statewide conservative organization." The poll, conducted in Knoxville, had the following results: Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam – 80 Rep. Zach Wamp – 70 Lt. Gov. Ramsey said, “This victory shows that GOP primary voters support my record of job creation, parental choice in education and ensuring the rights of the unborn as well as 2nd Amendment Rights. “The turnout was tremendous and I want to thank every conservative who came out to show their support for limited government and the Tennessee traditions which make our state great.” |
