Donald Morgan Sedman, 80, died at home on Wednesday, November 4, 2009.

Donald was born on March 7, 1929 in Chattanooga to Clyde and Ann Sedman. On June 22, 1951, he was married to the love of his life, Barbara Louise Rich. They raised five children together and were married for 58 years.

He was an ordained Bishop of the Church of God and a member of the Dividing Ridge Church of God. He pastored several churches in the Nebraska, Mississippi and Tennessee areas.

Donald loved life and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved being around his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Louise Sedman; children, Sharon (Roger) Bryson, Judy (Phil) Whitlatch, Janet (Wyman) Okuma, Gayle (Lonnie) Edwards, Donald Sedman; his sister, Barbara Griffith of Atlanta, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ann Sedman, brothers, Clyde Sedman, Grant Sedman, Benny Sedman, and sister, Nancy Koss.

II Timothy 4:7-8
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Dividing Ridge Church of God with Dr. Homer Rhea and the Rev. Nathan Chandler officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton County Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, and from 12-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel.
