Southern Adventist Becomes World's 100th All-Steinway School
Grammy Award-Winning Pianist Yefim Bronfman To Help Southern Celebrate
posted November 3, 2009

Southern Adventist University will celebrate its distinction as the world’s 100th All-Steinway School with a concert featuring Grammy-award winning pianist Yefim Bronfman on Nov. 8 and 9.

Mr. Bronfman is world-renowned and widely regarded as one of the most talented performers today. He won a Grammy in 1997 for his recording of the three Bartók Piano Concertos with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His commanding technique has earned him critical acclaim and enthusiastic audiences worldwide.

As a designated Steinway artist, Mr. Bronfman prefers to use only Steinway pianos. Similarly, by becoming an All-Steinway School, Southern will teach and perform exclusively using Steinway pianos.

To earn this distinction, Southern purchased 30 Steinway and Boston pianos. Southern joins the likes of schools such as Yale School of Music and The Juilliard School and has become the only All-Steinway School in the region.
