UTC Offers New Writing Workshop

The University of Tennessee Chattanooga Continuing Education announced the addition of “Fiction Writing For Beginners” to its “How To Be Published” writing workshops taught by Michael Garrett, Stephen King’s first editor.

Cost is $65 per three-hour workshop for the five Nov. 21–22 sessions.

“Fiction Writing For Beginners” (Nov. 21, 9 a.m. to noon) offers an overview of the basics that all new writers should know to get started.

Also offered from the continuing series are “How To Become a Published Author” (Nov. 21, 1-4 p.m.) revealing the expectations of publishers and how to get a literary agent.

“Creating Your Novel” (Nov. 21, 6-9 p.m.) providing a proven organizational method to make a novel better, easier, and faster to write.

“The Truth About Self-Publication” (Nov. 22, 9 a.m. to noon) describing which books are best suited for self-publication and which are not.

“Short Story and Novel Feedback” (Nov. 22, 1--4 p.m.) to learn how publishers may react to students’ specific submissions and what should be done to correct the problems.
