First 3 Members Named To New City Audit Committee posted July 7, 2009 The first three members have been named to the new audit committee named by the City Council. The panel, which will eventually have five members, will work with City Auditor Randy Burns. Those named are former City Councilman David DiStefano, Charles Millsaps and Timothy Moore. They will begin holding meetings, while awaiting the appointment of the other two members. The audit committee was formed after former Councilman Leamon Pierce said the council was not fulfilling its charter requirement of having an auditor independent of the mayor. The mayor's office has an internal auditor - Stan Sewell. Mr. Burns formerly served the City Council as budget analyst. |
