Labor Day Festival Promotes Appalachian History

There will be a Labor Day weekend festival in Chickamauga promoting the culture of the southern Appalachians and its Scottish and Irish ancestry. The two-day event will be held on Sept. 5 and 6, at the historic Lee and Gordon Mill in Chickamauga.

The festival will be held on Red Belt Road, just off of US 27. There will be food, music, Scottish clans and vendors. There also will be children's games along with Scottish athletic demonstrations such as the caber toss, hammer throw, and more.
