Photo Feature: Former Lookout Adam Dunn Hits 300th Career Homer Saturday posted July 4, 2009 WASHINGTON -- Nationals outfielder Adam Dunn hit career home run No. 300 against the Braves on Saturday afternoon. Dunn led off the seventh inning and smoked Tommy Hanson's 2-2 pitch over the right-field wall to cut the Braves' lead to 3-1. It was Dunn's 22nd home run of the season, and he also received his first curtain call of the season. It was the second milestone Dunn has reached this season. He collected career hit No. 1,000 against the Mets on May 26 at Citi Field. Dunn, who came up through the Cincinnati farm system, played with the Reds until being traded to Arizona last year. He signed a two-year contract with the Nationals as a free agent in the off-season. |
