Tyler, John Robinson "Robie" III (Cleveland)

John Robinson “Robie” Tyler III, 18, died on Tuesday, June 30, 2009.

He was a 2009 honors graduate of Bradley Central High School as a BEAR and Tennessee Scholar, where he was voted Best All-Around as a senior superlative and played football, No. 27. He was a nine-time National BMX champion. He loved to hunt and fish and was a lifetime Bassmaster member. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a lifetime sportsman license with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. He was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Gina Von Whaley Tyler; and father, John Robinson Tyler Jr., and his wife, Sherry; best buddies, brother, Ross Tyler; and brother through friendship, Brandon Phillips; stepbrother, Joshua Clifton; and stepsister, Olivia Clifton, both of Cleveland; grandparents, W.C. and Janet Whaley, Nancy Tyler and John and Linda Tyler, all of Cleveland; aunts and uncles, Kristie Haun and husband, Jason, of Cleveland, Chris Tyler, of Cleveland, and Tammy Kaminski and husband, Klay, of Melbourne, Fl.; cousins, Kristina, Elizabeth and Tanner Haun, of Cleveland, and Karlee and Kingsley Kaminski, of Melbourne, Fl.; special friends, Kevin Mitchell and Mike Woody; and a loving and lifelong extended family, Tammy, Todd, T.J., and Taylor Finnell.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. George Burlson and the Rev. William Lamb officiating.

Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Wes Goss, Ronnie Goss, Damon Floyd, Jim Kibbler, Rusty Rymer, Keith Freeman, Scott Ford and Dewey Woody serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be the 2008 Bradley Central Bears football team. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-9 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Robie Tyler Memorial Fund, which can be made at any Bank of Cleveland location, the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Tennessee Chapter, 404 BNA Drive Suite 102, Nashville, Tn. 37217.
