Jair Jurrjens Takes A No-Hitter Into The Seventh

Seeing the crooked number Atlanta's offense put up for him was even more welcome, although Jurrjens (6-6) hardly needed it.
Already staked to a comfortable lead, Jurrjens held the Phils hitless until former Lookouts catcher Paul Bako lined a single to right with two outs in the seventh.
Jurrjens went seven innings and allowed just one hit and one unearned run in collecting his first win since May 29 against the D-backs. The one hit he allowed is a season low and ties his career low.
The Braves chased Phillies ace Cole Hamels in the fifth after pounding the lefty for nine hits and seven earned runs. Chipper Jones went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Martin Prado, Matt Diaz and Brian McCann each drove in two runs. McCann's RBI single in the fifth snapped an 0-for-14 hitless streak.
Prado has hit safely in six of his last eight games and is 10-for-22 during the current homestand.
Jimmy Rollins flyout to center in the eighth inning extended the Phillies' shortstop's hitless streak to a career-high 27 at bats.
Diaz smacked a two-run homer and Diory Hernandez launched his first career home run in the Braves' six-run fifth.
Chase Utley went 0-for-3 tonight which snapped his 18-game hitting streak at Turner Field.
Before Wednesday's game, Atlanta had scored just five runs in the previous 30 innings in which Jurrjens pitched.
The Braves have won three in a row and secured their first series win in over a month.
Atlanta sits just three games behind the first-place Phillies in the National League East, with the Marlins and Mets ahead of them.
Atlanta goes for the sweep Thursday night with Javier Vazquez on the hill against Phillies' lefty J.A. Happ.
