King, Charles Harrison Jr.

Charles Harrison King Jr., 79, of Rossville, died on July 1, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Mr. King was retired from Combustion Engineering after 35 years of service. He was a member of Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church and was a former longtime member of Westside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margie Jo King; daughter, Sheila (Butch) Ellis, Ft. Oglethorpe; son, Charles (Linda) King, Ringgold; and his beloved dog Coco; grandchildren, Buffy (Matt) Williams and Shawn (Staci) Ellis; two stepgrandsons, Mike and James Daniel; two great-grandsons, Dakota Williams and Mason Ellis; sister, Betty Garner.

Services will be held on Friday, July 3, at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. George Pinion and Rev. Gary Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park with Shawn Ellis, Matt Williams, John Vandergriff, Frank Fejerian, Donnie Brown and Tom Hall serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday after noon at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway Chapel.
