Douglas Lorell Harris, 75, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, June 28, 2009.
He has lived in the Chattanooga area for the past 14 years and was of the Christian faith. He served his country in the U.S. Army before working at Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed his time fly fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaither and Augusta Harris; son, Dan Allen Harris; daughter, Francies Paige Harris; and brother, Elton Harris.
He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Ellen Harris; daughter, Amy Harris; sisters, Jaunita Baker, Melva Taylor, and Ikey Hyde; grandchildren, Derek, Ryan and Hayden; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family graveside service at Duck River Baptist Church, Cullman County, Al.
