Philip John Gardner Jr., 28, formerly of Athens, Tn., died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at his Chattanooga residence.
He attended McMinn County High School. He was a member of Faith Unlimited Ministries Christian Center.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Davis, Mary Frances Davis and Everett Gardner; and dear friend, Sue Greisemer.
Survivors are his mother, Jackie Davis Gardner, of Chattanooga; father, Philip John Gardner Sr., of San Antonio, Tx.; grandmother, Barbara Gardner, of San Antonio, Tx.; sister, SSgt Courtney (SSgt Todd) Walls, of Yorktown, Va.; several aunts, uncles, two nieces, one nephew, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 2, at noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor David Hill officiating.
Burial will be in Park City Cemetery in Madisonville, Tn.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
