A man is missing in the Tennessee River after a boat was struck by a barge.
The Knoxville News Sentinel quoted a Loudon County emergency services dispatcher in reporting the incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. Friday when the barge hit a boat on which three men were sleeping.
Two of the men were able to swim to the barge, but one man remained missing.
Searchers from the Loudon Fire Department and the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad began looking for him shortly after daybreak.
