They certainly found us. I really liked the food, and the owners are friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They are willing to prepare items for you if you have any special requests such as vegetarian, etc. I was told the menu would be changing to add items, or even removing items, after they get a feel for what customers want. As long as they don’t get rid of the Somosa Turnover, I will be fine.
The current menu is small, just nine items, priced from $1.49 to $6.49. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Every entree is made fresh to order, so it is best to call ahead (892-7750) and it will be ready when you arrive.
Let’s start with my favorite, the appetizer, Somosa Turnover ($1.49). This is a pastry-type crust stuffed with Indian spices and potatoes. I liked it so well, I stopped by and bought a second one the next day.
Wayne decided on the Hawaiian Teriyaki ($5.99); chicken seasoned with Chef’s International special sauce, served with chunks of pineapple, and rice. I ordered the Crete Kabobs ($6.29); two marinated grilled Greek chicken kabobs served on a bed of rice, grilled veggies and bread. Also on the plate was a small Somosa Turnover.
Wayne said he liked the Hawaiian Teriyaki enough to order it again. My kabobs were on skewers with red and green bell peppers over white rice with seasonings. The grilled veggies were broccoli and carrots. Bread is sliced Pita with butter and seasonings. I will definitely be stopping here again. Food was good and servings were generous.
The items on their current menu, in addition to those already mentioned, are Cabos Fajitas, Tikka Chicken, Chef Tacos, Lemon Basil Chicken, House Salad, and Kids Chicken Fingers.
They will be adjusting their hours to find out what works best, but currently the hours are seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
On another note, I would like to respond to a complaint from someone who said we “never spend more than $6.50 a plate” and that I “never write negative.” Where has this person been? First, it is rare to find a plate that is $6.50 (although we did this week), but if we do, in this day and time that’s an excellent find and people want to know. I did go back and check the last 24 articles and find that only five of those were $6.50 or less. The remaining 19 were more expensive, some much more expensive.
As to never writing negative, I don’t think I need to respond because it’s well known that that isn’t a true statement. I can hear a few restaurants choking right now, wanting to know what confused person said that.
