The Red Rock Grill is at 1743 Dayton Blvd.
The Red Rock Grill at 1743 Dayton Blvd. has new ownership and they have really turned things around! This has gone from a bar to a nice cozy little restaurant. No more televisions, no shouting patrons, just good food!

We went for the Sunday Brunch where you serve yourself, although the rest of the time it is strictly table service. The bar is still there, but the emphasis is on food.

The all you can eat brunch is $14 for adults and $7 for children ages six to twelve. Children under five are served complimentary.

Some of the items found on the brunch buffet include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, French toast, buttermilk biscuits, pepper gravy, bagels, hash brown casserole, corn pie, marinated roast pork loin and marinated black Angus prime rib. This is only a sampling of the many items to choose from. You can even special order Eggs Benedict at no extra charge!

I did not try the Eggs Benedict, but several in our group said they were very good and they really liked the Hollandaise sauce. My two favorites were the pineapple casserole and prime rib (it was juicy and tender and I would loved to have taken the whole thing home!). We plan on going back to try the regular menu sometime soon.

The lunch menu features such appetizers as shrimp jalapeno poppers ($7) and fresh fries or chips ($5), whereas dinner is more creative with crab cakes and shallot dill sauce ($10) or Tiki wanton shrimp with Thai orange chili dipping sauce ($9).

Lunch prices range from $6 for a house salad to $18 for the Black Angus rib eye. I noticed Red Pepper Gouda Bisque ($4/$6) with a description that was certainly intriguing (“A velvety rich bisque with roasted red peppers, smoked gouda, fresh whole basil and crushed garlic. Finished with a kiss of fresh cream.”). In the evenings Lobster Bisque is also on the menu.

If you prefer sandwiches Red Rock offers Philly Steaks, Reubens, and Rib Eye, just to name a few. In addition there is the Red Plate Special served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until it’s gone. Menu items are cooked from scratch each morning, so quantities are limited – get there early!

The dinner menu features Sockeye Salmon ($16), Lump Crab Cakes ($17), and Apple Roasted Pork Loin ($15). The Dayton Boulevard area finally has a good restaurant!

Hours for Lord’s Red Rock Grill are Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., and on Saturday opening at 4 p.m. Sunday they are only open for brunch, which is served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. They also do catering and private parties.
