McCormick Will Not Make U.S. House Race posted May 11, 2009 State Rep. Gerald McCormick said Monday he will not run for the U.S. House seat being vacated by Rep. Zach Wamp. Rep. McCormick said, “While I am honored by the interest expressed in a potential candidacy by people that I respect very much, I do want to make it clear to the people of the 26th State House District that I have decided not to run for Congress in 2010.” Paula Flowers, former state commissioner of commerce and insurance, is a Democratic candidate. Attorney Chuck Fleischmann of Chattanooga and Sheriff Tim Gobble of Bradley County are announced Republican candidates. |
