The community is invited to the Jewish Cultural Center to view the swearing-in of the 44th president. Coffee and light refreshments will be served while the festivities are seen on the large screen.
There is no charge for the morning event, to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m.
All are encouraged to stay for a lunchtime gathering of the Jewish Federation’s Chai Steppers group, which will follow at noon. The cost for lunch is $6. Guest speaker Dr. Jon Cohen will talk about adapting to change. “Inauguration Day 2009 brings exciting and historical change to the United States. In our own lives, especially as we age, change is too often perceived as threatening or upsetting,” said Dr. Cohen. “We'll discuss adapting to change in a positive way and how to cope with the inevitable challenges of change.”
Dr. Cohen graduated from Dartmouth College and from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill Medical School. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Wisconsin .He has been on the faculty at University of Tennessee College of Medicine, served as president of the medical staff at Valley Psychiatric Hospital, and is currently Division Chief of Psychiatry at Erlanger Hospital.
