12 People Injured In Head-On Crash In Bradley County
posted November 9, 2008

Twelve people were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 60 in Bradley County on Saturday night.

Authorities said six rugby players from a club team at Bryan College were in a 1999 Chevrolet SUV, while six members of a family were in a 2006 Honda Pilot SUV.

There were four helicopter landings at the wreck site.

The Bryan vehicle driven by 17-year-old Steven Magnussen of Hixson collided with an SUV driven by Morgan Copeland, 21, of Calhoun, Tn. The Copeland vehicle was traveling south. Three young boys were among the passengers in the Honda Pilot.

Some of the accident victims were taken to Erlanger Hospital and others to Sky Ridge Medical Center.

There were a number of serious injuries suffered in the wreck, but no fatalities, authorities said.

Bryan has a club rugby team. The players were returning from a match.
