Enough Is Enough posted September 10, 2008 I have sat back during the painfully long primary season, and for a time was undecided who I would vote for, that is until the infamous Rev. Wright episode. Then when learning about the candidates other unsavory associations (Tony Resko, a convicted felon, William Ayers, known to have bombed the Pentagon) Louis Farrakhan, I was really convinced that Barry Obama was not of good character. Yet, when someone says something derogatory about the comments of the good reverend they are termed a racist. I do no think I need to repeat what the man said, we all know, and how anyone can condone it, is beyond belief. Yet to watch the extreme bias demonstrated by the news media over the last few weeks has not only shocked but has also saddened me. Not so long ago journalism was just that - journalism. Now the three major networks, CNN, and the worst of them all, MSNBC, have shown no ethics in their coverage of this election. When John McCain named Sarah Palin as his running mate, it was almost like a scene from Jaws when they are churning the water. Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson, and that shrill Katie Couric were just copies of Captain Quint waiting to kill the shark. They trot out celebrities, just as Ben Afleck, P Diddy and a host of young celebs they think will get you to vote. Yet, they fail to even mention that Academy Award winner Jon Voight, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, and, yes, Lance Armstrong have endorsed John McCain because conservatism is a mental illness to those like Keith Olbermann. Even the local media is getting on board thanks to some very slanted stories by WTVC, and comments made by a respected talk show host, Jeff Styles. Where were they when Wright, Flager spewed what was at the very least what the politically correct like to call "hate speech. Why have they not questioned Obama on his ties with Ayers, who he still considers a friend? Why did they hasten to correct him just this past Sunday when he stated John McCain has never questioned his Muslim faith? It is simple, they want to see Obama elected and will stop at nothing to destroy two of the few good people left. Now they question the paternity of Palin's child, question her mental state because she is Pentecostal. The same "journalists" are on a hunting expedition in Alaska, loaded with money for any morsel they can "buy". Hoping they can use any lie to derail what for the good of America needs to happen, and that is John McCain be elected. Barack Obama is not qualified to lead this country. His record in Illinois is pathetic, having voted present more than 100 times. He is a freshman senator who has been on the campaign trail since he took office. He has produced nothing tangible in his career other than kissing up to Oprah. The country is in this sad shape thanks to a do-nothing Congress controlled by Pelosi and Reed. Michelle Obama says we are a mean country. No, we are not mean, we are just tired of having political correctness rammed down our throat by an over-liberalized media, and we are tired of people that think because Ophra says it's good for us, that it has to be good. Jon Voight (for those who are uniformed is Angelina Jolie's father) has been one of the many who have stated what we all feel, Obama is not the man to lead us in this time in history. He is completely unqualified. Yet, Obama dares to say that Mrs. Palin is not. As in boxing, the tale of the tape will show that Palin wins by a knockout. Obama's plan will drive this country into class warfare. He and his charges will so restrict us with government regulation that we will become the Orwell novel in real life. I have voted Democrat in the past with both Carter and Clinton. This time, however, I would be ashamed to be associated with the people that are supporting Obama. They all keep stating that if you do not vote for Obama, you are a racist. They used racist attacks on the Clintons, and the only time race has been made an issue is when Barry brought it up himself. John McCain was and is a hero, having served his country. Barry Obama is only serving himself. I will fight with John. Obama claims to be a world citizen. Well, that tells me all I need to know. He does not put his country first. He would rather kowtow to the Europeans and the far left, and leave the rest of America, The Not So Silent Majority, to fend for ourselves. I, for one, will not let that happen. I am voting for one of the few true heroes left, and that is John McCain. Gene Hall Chattanooga |
