He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Rossville area where he was a member of the River of Life Church in East Ridge and affiliated with the Empowerment Church in Chattanooga. Mr. Mowery was the owner and operator for over 35 years of the G.E.M. Repair Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Shirley Mowery; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa C. and Mitch Edmondson of Chattanooga; two brothers, Larry E. Mowery of Harrison and Charles S. Mowery of Hixson; one granddaughter, Michelle (Nick) Grant of Ft. Oglethorpe; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
