Roger was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired electrician from the Local #175. Roger was a member of Central Baptist Church of Hixson and was an avid Big Orange Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amon and Ruth Prestwood.
Roger is survived by his wife of 46 years, Luciana “Lucy;" four children, Elizabeth (Michael) Laymon, Katherine (Billy) Walker, Scott Prestwood and Valerie (Joe) Anderson; four grandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Drew and Jacob; one great-grandson, Michael Pursley; two siblings, Barry (Karen) Prestwood and Ann (Robert) Schultz; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the North Chapel with Rev. Joe Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Monday and 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
