Christian Bikers to Lead Free Ride To Red Clay State Park
posted September 7, 2008

The Chattanooga chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association will be leading their monthly chapter ride to the Red Clay State Park in Bradley County on Saturday.

Leaving at 10 a.m. from the Sportsman’s Warehouse parking lot on Lee Highway, the ride will take a 100-mile route that will include a lunch stop and an extended stop at the state park to learn about Cherokee history in the area. This sacred spot is the home of the Eternal Flame of the Cherokee Nation, it was stated.

“The park and the information available is simply amazing” according to chapter member Tony Daniels, “Everyone needs to go there and learn about our history and the Cherokee Indians during the Trail of Tears.”

Bikers on all brands of bikes are welcome. “We want to invite all riders to join us,” Chapter Harry T. Stone said.

The Chattanooga Road Captain, Wayne Polk, will be leading the ride through the Tennessee Valley and North Georgia along a pre-determined route. A lunch stop is planned after leaving the park. The ride is free and open to all riders.

This ride is the fifth in a series of monthly rides to expose others to the ministry of CMA and to have visitors come and enjoy a fun afternoon of motorcycle riding. The ride will return to Chattanooga in the mid-afternoon and is suited for all types of riders from beginners on up, according to the CMA road captain.

CMA is an inter-denominational outreach Ministry of over 130,000 members and 920 chapters in the United States. The Chattanooga chapter (Choo-Choo Wheels of Worship) has over 50 members. There are area chapters in Chattanooga, Cleveland, Dayton, Athens, Dalton and Lafayette.
