A native and longtime resident of Lookout Mountain, Ga., Betty had resided in East Ridge for the past 26 years and was retired from the State of Georgia/Lookout Mountain Community Services. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Arizona Phillips, and brothers, Walter, O.B., and Joe Phillips.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, James McNeese; sons, Jimmy McNeese of Ringgold, and Joey Cook, Burbank, Ca.; daughter, Sandy James of Rossville; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister, Elizabeth Bess, Altamont, Tn.; brothers, Cecil, Bunk, and Stevie Phillips, all of Lookout Mountain; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Richard Kennett officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens, Trenton, Ga.
