Jensen, Charlotte Dorothy (Dayton)

Charlotte Dorothy Jensen, 84, died on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Rhea Medical Center.

Charlotte was born on Jan. 24, 1924, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of the late Martin and Berdine Herdal Christiansen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Irving Jensen.

Charlotte lived most of her life in Dayton, where she was a homemaker and a member of Grace Bible Church. She was a former deputy trustee for Rhea County and loved her grandchildren and traveling.

She is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Phil) Carter, of Chattanooga, and Karen (Steve) Collins, of Flowery Branch, Ga.; her son, Bob (Becky) Jensen, of Pembroke Pines, Fl.; four grandchildren; her sister, Ruth (Warren) Johnson, of Voorhees, N.J.; numerous nieces and nephews and also cousins in Norway.

Funeral services for Charlotte will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Steve Collins and Dr. Doug Russell officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
