Peden, John Thomas Retired From Cumberland Corporation posted August 6, 2008 John Thomas Peden, 83, of Red Bank, died on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Erlanger Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Shannon, Ms., to Robert F. and Annie Peden. John was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hixson. He retired from Cumberland Corporation and served in the Army in WWII as an MP in the European Theater. John was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy; sisters, Lena Mae, Loyce and Louise; and daughter-in-law, Wanda. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Edna Peden; daughters, Linda (Tillman) Sullivan of Shannon, Ms., and Alice (Greg) Artime of Harrison; son, John Terry Peden of Chattanooga; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
