1st Hearing On Senior Tax Help Is Aug. 21 In East Ridge
posted August 6, 2008

County Commissioner Curtis Adams said the first public hearing on senior tax help will be Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. at Jones Memorial Church on Ringgold Road in East Ridge.

Commissioner Adams said additional hearings will be announced.

He said it is time for commissioners to "jump in with both feet" on the long-debated issue.

Commissioner Adams said the commission has two options: a senior tax freeze or senior tax relief.

He said implementing the senior tax freeze would be extremely complex, and he said commission members are divided on the issue.
