In Support Of Debra Matthews
posted August 6, 2008

I listened to Gregg Juster today on the radio and was in disbelief at his total disregard for years of accomplishments by Debra Matthews.

Debra has a graduate degree and her master's degree. She has accomplished this and partnered with the Benwood Foundation to help reform 16 elementary schools in her district.

Under her direction, Brown Academy is the first elementary to be awarded International Baccalaureate Candidate Status. Battle School is a NASA Explorer School of America School of Excellence. CSAS was established as the first magnet school in Hamilton County and is considered a premier Paideia school nationally. Howard School continues to make progress with more than $600,000 in scholarships being awarded to 2008 seniors with two seniors going to UTK architectural program on scholarship. Since 2004 Howard has increased math scores nearly 30% and the teacher retention is at an all-time high of 98%. Orchard Knob opened today with a new $12 million facility.

Mr. Juster, what have you done lately besides make negative statements and inject a smear campaign?

District 4 needs Debra Matthews to continue going forward with progress. Vote for Debra. You need her continued vision and progress for District 4.
